Abstract

Objects:
@EN The epistemological methodology of the NeoConfucian thought, "Ko-Wu-Chih-Chih"("The extension of knowledges lies on the investigation of things"), was compared with the psychodynamic understanding of the modern psychiatry.
@ES Methods;
@EN Prominent NeoConfucianists of the Middle Ages were Chen Tzu, Chu Tzu and Wang Yang Ming. Their theories about "Ko-Wu-Chih-Chih" were chosen as the subjects of this considerations.
@ES Results:
@EN 1) The NeoConfucian viewpoint of "Ko-Wu" was consistent with that of "working-through".
2) The NeoConfucian viewpoint of "Chih-Chih" was consistent with that of "self-realization".
@ES Conclusion:
@EN The NeoConfucian, thought about "Ko-Wu-Chih-Chih" was similar with the psychodynamic understanding trying to gain "insight".
